Since you’re using Photoshop CC, it should actually work. The ‘if” is only available in Photoshop CC (otherwise you need to use the Photoshop CS5 action). Hi! Just downloaded today but when I run the simple frequency seperation action it tells me that ‘if’ is not available – is this an important step or can I continue without that, or if it is needed i’ll need help in finding out why mine doesn’t work – I use Photoshop CC version – thank you! Reply Would really appreciate if you could answer this question. I’m pretty sure you are lowering red channel in a mixer channel for skin blemish, I’m familiar with the solarize layer, then will just anything work to desaturate for the B&W? Reply Invert, Black and White, Solarize, and Skin Blemish. I would like to know all about the 4 check layers. Why is that and what is the difference? Reply I noticed that on the low frequency layer for some parts of the face you use motion blur and for other parts you use gaussian blur. Sorry but I’ve already found a answer to my previous question Let’s say a client wants to have a birthmark on the image that was retouched. Great frequency separation video, I would like to know how to edit with this technique. Where to do buy the entire retouching video as well as any of the other videos you have posted online? You can open action tab then drag the retouch actin into it Reply Could you please explain to me? Thanks Reply Hi, I downloaded the projected files, but when I click to execute it, It just start Photoshop but it doesnt’ happen anything. Hi, when I get to the heailing brush part, the heailing brush too doesn’t show any changes (it’s doesn’t do anything on the high frequency layer). My retouching skills have increased a few times over. The best instructional video for Frequencies yet and the comment on “do not show the model the check list version, unless you want her to feel really ugly” totally cracked me up lol (still laughing). My mixer brush gives me a contrasty look. of the photos you can try the service which I used. I used your techniques on a photo I thought was beyond hope. great collection and a lot of good inspiration for getting better final results □ Helped me getting even more beautiful shots. Great tutorials! We always learn something new on the web! thanks Reply After reading your blog my all problem solved. Do you know that after reading this blog my mind just changed? I hope you will post more on this topic. This means you can modify most of the edits and the effects will trickle up to the final image, giving you a real time view of what you are doing step by step.Hi, how can I create the shortcut for Gaussian blur? Reply Kristina's Portrait in a Pinch action takes a bit of time to run but I like the way it lays out all the edits in individual layers. They didn't save me any time over just doing my editing in Photoshop. While these programs can speed up simple editing they do require lots of attention to individual edits if you want to do a really good job. The first thing I had to do was back off a lot of the edits and replace the defaults. They can speed up your portrait retouching but in my experience, now a couple of years old, they go way overboard on many of the default edits. PortraitPro - Easy Photo Editing Software and Portraiture - Retouching Plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Lightroom and Apple Aperture both have good and bad points. I use the Color layer to smooth colors and sculpt the face with highlights and shadows. I do this on the Texture layer after Frequency Separation. I will fix temporary blemishes, or even permanent ones if asked to do so, but I don't blur or soften the skin texture. I want to retain all the skin texture possible. There are action commands that will halt the action and allow you to make changes in things like the strength of the blurring.ĭo you rate Portrait Pro if it's used just for the skin smoothing brush ? If you wish to edit the action you can make changes in Photoshop but it is sometimes easier to use any simple text editor. The action uses Surface Blur, not Gaussian Blur, which gives a slightly different result.Ī Photoshop action is just a text file.
